Noon - 3 PM. Field workshop for mid-Atlantic region dairy farmers and county educators

Informational talks on small-scale anaerobic digestion, including an overview of the technology, a discussion of its benefits and drawbacks to farms of varying sizes, and an overview of wastes and feedstocks that may be appropriate for farmers in the mid-Atlantic region.

Tour of two digestion systems - a large-scale reactor built by the USDA and a small-scale system being investigated by the University of Maryland in cooperation with the USDA.

DIRECTIONS
From Baltimore: Take MD-295/Baltimore-Washington Parkway South to the Powder Mill Rd./Beltsville exit. Turn right onto Powder Mill Rd. and continue about 2.4 miles. Take the driveway up the hill on the left to the red brick building (Bldg 200).

From Northern Virginia/Western Maryland:
Take the outer loop of the Beltway/I-495 North/East towards Baltimore/College Park/Silver Spring. Take Exit 23 for Greenbelt/ Bladensburg/MD-201/Kenilworth Avenue and turn left onto Edmonston Road. Follow MD-201/Edmonston Rd. about 2.3 miles to the traffic light at the intersection of Powder Mill Rd. and turn right. Follow Powder Mill Rd. about 0.5 miles. Take the driveway up the hill on the left to the red brick building (Bldg 200).

From Southern Maryland/Delmarva Peninsula:
