Hoddle's lecture, “What's in your garden? Protecting California from invasive species," is free and open to the public. Mark Hoddle, director of the University of California - Riverside’s Center for Invasive Species Research, on Wednesday will discuss how pests come from all over the world to the Golden State, attacking our crops, invading our homes and destroying our wilderness. According to experts, California gets a new and potentially damaging invasive insect species every 60 days. He will discuss what the university is doing in the battle against these invaders.
