My mare seems to be leaking milk, however, she is not in foal and has not been recently. Why is this and what can I do?

Mares can have a false pregnancy where they will mimic pregnancy and preparation for foaling. Those mares will have mammary development and in some cases secrete or stream a fluid. Also, certain feeds will contain estrogenic compounds that can stimulate mammary development.  Since this is not a normal circumstance, you should contact your veterinarian and have the mare examined.
