Description
Hummingbird mint is a long lived perennial native to the southwestern United States. Hummingbird mint is adapted to USDA Hardiness Zones 5 through 7 but may persist in Zone 4 if planted in warmer microclimates. Many other agastache species can be used as water wise landscape plants.
Hummingbird mint grows to about 2 to 3 feet tall and wide. It had pink to raspberry colored tubular shaped flowers and blooms from mid-summer through fall until frost. It tolerates dry native soils with no additional fertilizer and is deer and rabbit resistant.
Hyssops are a popular choice for the warm and dry regions of the western U.S. Many cultivars are available that will do well in southern states and warmer regions of the mid west.
