Description
Threadleaf tickseed is a long lived perennial native to the eastern and southeastern United States, and eastern Canada. It can also be grown in much of the lower 48 states of the United States. Cultivars have been developed for the landscape industry.
Threadleaf tickseed averages about 24 inches tall and 18 or more inches wide but can range from 12 to 48 inches tall depending on cultivar. It has delicate finely textured leaves and is covered with yellow flowers in mid-summer. Some pink and red blooming cultivars are available. Tickseed tolerates sun to part shade and is adapted to USDA cold hardiness zones 3 to 9.
