The amount of ALA varies from food to food. The best sources of ALA are:

  • Flaxseed and flaxseed oil
  • Walnuts
  • Soybeans and soybean oil
  • Linseed oil
  • Canola oil

The following food items may also have small amounts of ALA.

  • Dry beans, legumes
  • Oats
  • Wheat germ

Several new food products are also on the market that have ALA added, such as bread, pasta, cereals, and eggs.
