What is wheat?

Wheat is a plant that is grown for it's grain.  It is also known as a cereal grass which produces cereal grain.  The grain is also called kernels.  They are located in the top or the 'head' of the plant.  Wheat grain is milled or ground up to make flour which is used to make bread and pasta.
