Eight new videos have been added to the poultry site on extension.org describing how to make a hoop-pen for pasture poultry production. Interest in pasture poultry has been increasing. Pasturing poultry typically involves housing the birds in a bottomless pen that is placed on pasture and moved at regular intervals. The hoop-pen described in the videos and accompanying factsheet, has several advantages. It is relatively inexpensive, easy to move and durable. The tarp cover allows for different levels of ventilation as required for the changing weather conditions.
