Cribbing occurs when the horse grasps onto a surface (often wood) with their teeth and swallows air. This behavior can cause horses to lose weight, wear down their top incisors, and be more prone to colic. This behavior is considered a result of boredom. Cribbing is a vice that is frequently copied by other horses.
