RENO, Nev. -- Teenage students are invited to attend the third annual Discover Your Future camp, an experience of college life in four various job skills, from June 15-19 at the University of Nevada, Reno campus.

"We're hoping to double that number (40 students in 2006) and I think we will be able to," said Warren Andersen, 4-H military and technology assistant. "We want to give the kids a feel of what college life is like."

Students, ages 14 to 19, are encouraged to attend and learn about different fields of study like science, communication, technology and engineering. Along with experiencing a college education, students will participate in multiple fun activities like swimming, climbing wall, barbeque and a college share fair. A GPS scavenger hunt at Rancho San Rafael Park is also planned.

"We'll be giving them exposure to different careers and fields of study," Andersen said. "One of the big things is they learn to work well together and expand their horizons a lot, and they'll hopefully find interest for a career."

Early-bird registration lasts until May 2 and the cost is $180 per student. The registration deadline is May 16 and the cost is $190. Checks are to made payable to "Board of Regents." Registration includes housing for four nights, meals and event and activity expenses.

Registration forms are available online at http://www.unce.unr.edu/4H/calendar/files/pdf/2008DYFPacket.pdf. Send forms to the State 4-H office by mail at Mail Stop 405, 1305 Evans St., Reno, NV 89557-0106 or by fax at (775) 327-5125.
