Endocrinology

Endocrinology is the study of hormones and their effects on specific organs. Hormones are chemicals that are produced by various tissues in the body and travel through the circulatory system to produce an effect on one or several target organs. The processes involved with growth, digestion, and reproduction are driven by the action of hormones.
