Global Positioning System (GPS) use satellite and ground stations to transmit information to receivers that can be used to tell a receivers location. GPS technologies assist in many aspects of daily life. Farmers, ranchers, communities, natural resource managers, emergency responders, health and human safety officers, and disaster response teams have been able to take advantage of this geospatial technology. GPS is one of the fastest growing areas of geospatial technologies.
