Iowa Career Conference in April for Girls in Science

Young women in grades six through 12 can learn about careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

AMES, Iowa – Young women in grades six through 12 will have the opportunity to learn about careers in science, technology, engineering and math at the annual spring conference “Taking the Road Less Traveled: A Career Conference for Girls.”

Sponsored by the Program for Women in Science and Engineering, the April career conferences will take place at the Memorial Union on the ISU campus in Ames. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from professional women and participate in hands-on activities or tours.

Cost to attend is $15 per registrant (both adults and students) and includes lunch. In the past, more than 2,500 individuals have participated in the conference led by presenters, ISU staff, ISU students and volunteers.

This year’s conference date for girls in grades nine through 12 is April 10. Girls in grades six through nine can attend either April 17 or April 24. Registration forms must be postmarked at least two weeks before the date of the selected conference.
