AUSTIN, Minn. -- Youth grades three and up can be gardeners busy planting, watering, weeding and harvesting in a Minnesota program. They may learn about bugs or make jam in their weekly workshops. It's a free program through the University of Minnesota and 4-H.

Master Gardeners, youth leaders, AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) workers and Mower County’s U of M Extension have teamed up to work with and teach the children.

The work and play of the Mower County Junior Gardeners is chronicled on a blog at http://mowerjuniorgardeners.blogspot.com/.
