My Horse University

Are you interested in learning more about your horse? Whatever breed of horse you love, your level of experience, or location, you’ll benefit from the educational opportunities offered by My Horse University, an online learning community developed by world-renowned experts.

Horse owners, enthusiasts, and professionals can enroll in two online courses: Horse Selection and Evaluation and Horse Behavior and Welfare. These self-paced courses allow learners to access materials and instruction whenever it is convenient for them.

The Horse Behavior and Welfare online course is designed to help horse owners better understand how horses learn, why they react in various situations, and how to use this information in handling and training.

The Horse Selection and Evaluation online course is designed to help participants learn to evaluate a horse's conformation, ask pertinent questions, and examine their goals before making purchase decisions.

“The courses offered through My Horse University are great resources for everyone from the novice horse person to those who have owned horses for many years. Because they are offered online, participants can work at their own pace, can go back and repeat sections, and use the information to fit their learning styles and needs,” says Christine Skelly, director and founder of My Horse University.

The registration fee for each course is $200. Participants may take up to six months to complete each course, and at the completion will receive a certificate of achievement.

My Horse University will launch a new Equine Nutrition course this summer. Stay tuned for future courses on health, reproduction, and exercise physiology.

Hello. I'm a Preschool teacher and am looking for anything you could send me (for free please - including links, email, etc.) on horses. The 4 year old children in my class are interested in learning about horses so we'll spend a month covering this topic. Thank you for your time.

For the first time in 13 years since I've owned my horse, out of the clear blue, while grooming him last summer, he bit me in the top of my back! Never has he maliciously tried to hurt me. He has totally betrayed my trust in him to the point where I don't even want to ride or work with him any more. Why? I just need to know why?
