BISMARCK, N.D. —- T.J. Russell, president and chief executive officer of Mandan-based Cloverdale Foods Co., will be the keynote speaker at the Food Entrepreneur Basic Training Boot Camp at the Kelly Inn in Bismarck on Oct. 22.
The North Dakota State University Extension Service’s Center for Community Vitality is holding the daylong workshop, which is for entrepreneurs who want to start a food processing business or take their small food business to the next level.
Participants will learn about the importance of food entrepreneurs to North Dakota’s economy, health regulations and good manufacturing practices, processing and packing, patents and trademarks, labeling requirements, the Pride of Dakota program, marketing, product evaluation, legal and liability issues, business plans and financial assistance. Attendees also will be connected to industry resources and other individuals who may be starting their own businesses.
The cost is $35 in advance and $45 at the door.
