The LPE Learing Center hosted a two part series broadcast in November and December, 2006 on "Pathogens in Animal Manure--Should We Be Concerned?" Part 1 includes discussions on pathogen basics and case studies of human outbreaks. Part 2 covers how pathogens reach water supplies, and best management practices for pastured and confined livestock to prevent contamination. The presenters are: Jeanette Thurston-Enriquez, USDA-ARS; Sheridan Haack, USGS; Jane Frankenberger, Purdue University; Rob Atwill, University of California-Davis; and Chip Simmons, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Public Health. American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists

ARPAS members can receive 1 CEU for Part 1 and another CEU for Part 2. View the archvied presentations complete the Part 1 evaluation, and Part 2 evaluation then contact ARPAS, 217-356-5390 to have the credits applied to your balance.
