Polar Orbit

A polar orbit is an orbit in which a satellite passes over or nearly over the North and South Poles. Satellites that have a polar orbit are generally weather satellites and Earth-observing satellites. During a 12-hour day, a satellite in such an orbit can observe all points on the Earth.
