Radar (radio detection and ranging) is a type of remote sensing sensor. Radar is an active sensor; it sends out signals to an object, and the signals sent back are measured. Radar measures the time between pulses and their reflected components to determine distance. Radar wavelengths range between less than 1 millimeter to 1 meter.
