Spectral Resolution

Spectral resolution refers to the number of wavelength intervals that can be measured by a remote sensing system. For example, a hyperspectral system can measure hundreds of narrowly defined spectral bands.

With a digital image, spectral resolution refers to how much detail is visible. Images with greater spectral resolution have more detail and appear to be more clear or less blurry. High-resolution images are sharper than low resolution images.
