COLLEGE STATION, Texas – According to recent weather reports, there’s not much to like about Hurricane Ike as it makes its way toward the Texas coast.
To help Texas residents and others prepare for and recover from Hurricanes and other natural disasters, the Texas AgriLife Extension Service has a variety of publications available online.
AgriLife Extension has produced several disaster- related informational and educational pieces in English and Spanish. Most can be downloaded free of charge from the AgriLife Extension Bookstore Web site at http://agrilifebookstore.org.
Specific materials can be found by clicking on “Disasters and Emergencies” on the site’s home page. Spanish-language versions have an “S” at the end of their identification number.
Some materials and ID numbers include: - “Preparing for the Unexpected” – B-6178 and B-6178S - “Hurricane Preparedness for Livestock” – E-166 and E-166S - “Basic First Aid” – ER-014 and ER-014S - “Disinfecting Water after a Disaster” – ER-002 and ER-002S - “Caring for Important Papers after a Flood” – ER-003 and ER-003S - “Controlling Mold Growth after the Storm” – ER-010 and ER-010S
