Animal Health Watch -- When could it be more than a common illness?
Look for signs of an unusual and serious situation:
- • Several animals or birds sicken at once.
- • Marked drop in milk or egg production.
- • Multiple unexplained sudden deaths or changed behaviors.
- • Tender feet, loss of coordination.
- • Head swellings, discharges, breathing difficulties or multiple sudden abortions.
- • Blisters around mouth, nose, teats or hooves (cattle, pigs, sheep, goats or horses).
What to do if you notice any or all of these symptoms:
Stay put and call for help from your veterinarian, extension office or other local or state authorities.
