NeXC2016: From Innovation to Impact a Big Hit

i-three issue corpseXtension’s national conference March 22-25 in San Antonio was abuzz with learning, problem solving and collaboration. Conference participants worked along two tracks: eXtension’s first i-Three Issue Corps met to refine their plans on climate and food systems projects; other participants selected learning opportunities from a rich offering of peer-led sessions on more than 60 technology and education trends important to Cooperative Extension professionals. Design-a-Thon at NeXC2016 Brings Experts and i-Three Issue Corps Together

Paul Pangaro working sessioneXtension’s first i-Three Issue Corps convened at NeXC2016 to advance their projects on climate and food systems through participation in a “design-a-thon.” The i-Three Issue Corps includes 126 Extension professionals from 33 institutions working on 69 projects. The design-a-thon process was led by design-thinking expert Dr. Paul Pangaro, and more than 40 specialty experts from across the Cooperative Extension system and beyond were on hand to coach Corps members on topics relevant to the success of their projects. eXtension Expands Innovation Team Support to Institutions

innovation team graphicOver the last several years, eXtension has worked with several state Cooperative Extension Services, helping them develop Innovation Teams to advance new initiatives, particularly initiatives that involve scaling up and applying uses of eXtension technologies such as Ask an Expert. Now, the eXtension Foundation is re-focusing and expanding this program, based on the success of these early efforts, making it available to all institutions that are premium members of eXtension. Introducing Catalog: Major Upgrade to eXtension Learning Platforms

catalog graphicCatalog, a comprehensive resource of eXtension courses for Extension professionals and public learners has been launched and is ramping up to include more than 300 courses this Spring. eXtension Foundation Member institutions can request their education offerings be listed in Catalog where they can be found by prospective learners at a single gateway to learning opportunities throughout the Cooperative Extension System. Reminder: Refresh Skills with Impact Statement Reporting Course

impact statement reporting graphicSpring is Impact Statement Reporting season. eXtension now offers the new online Impact Statement Reporting Course created by Extension professionals, specifically for Extension professionals, to employees of member institutions for free. Requiring only 80 minutes to complete, all at one time or across modules, this course provides timely instruction or can serve as a refresher as impact statement reporting deadlines approach.
